DETAILS
Originally designed and used by the pro catcher, Jim Campanis, back in the 1960-70’s the 243 turn quickly became the choice for a host of professional hitters for many decades. The signature thin handle rising out of a comfort seat knob, the tight transition pinch into a monster barrel became the gold standard of wood bats for so many hundreds of players each season. With the advent of low-density rules for maple bats just a handful of years ago, a solution has been required that keeps the essence of the past with needs and performance desired today. The AU243 modification does exactly that. A medium scaled knob, with its classic 243 flare is spun into a thinner, controllable handle. Complimenting the hard pinch transition and logo area, is the trademark full-barrel landing area for the ball. This bat is definitely designed back then, along with today’s modifications to be an end-loaded, power hitter choice. Best in -1.5 to -2.5 weight drops.
