Very similar to the AU271, the firm swinging AU110 features a slightly thicker handle for increased control and hand power. While Mickey Mantle is credited with the popularity of the 110 turning, it was Eddie Malone who helped Hillerich & Bradsby design the bat back in the late 40’/early 50’s. Featuring a slightly reduced knob and a classic 0.955” handle, it grows with a solid transition into the 2.47” barrel. The AU110 feels like a balanced steel pipe with solid contact for deep fly balls or liners to the gaps. The density scale puts it at a 7.5/10 and is brilliant for keeping the hitters hands in unison and aligned throughout the hitting zone. This works best in -2 or -1.5 drop weight selection.
