Scouting Report

Meet Nathan

Nate Eisfelder is a physical, gap-to-gap power hitter from Jonesborough, Tennessee, currently playing at Indiana University Bloomington. At 6'2", 215 lbs., the right-handed hitting first baseman and outfielder brings an IMG Academy pedigree and a season in the SEC at Tennessee to the Hoosiers' lineup. His strength-driven frame, mature approach, and ability to drive the ball authoritatively to both gaps make him a middle-of-the-order presence with real corner-outfield and first-base versatility.

Offensively, Nate pairs natural raw power with a line-drive stroke that produces damage from foul pole to foul pole. He swings the NE11 Signature Model, engineered in collaboration with Authentic to match his swing—built off the KPJ17 platform he had immediate success with, then re-balanced with a touch more end load while preserving the light, fungo-quick feel through the zone. Long barrel run for plate coverage, medium handle for hand strength, and just enough weight to the tip to keep him back on the ball. As he continues to grow into his power, his blend of size, bat speed, and all-fields impact positions him as a legitimate pro prospect.

  • Position(s): 1B/OF
  • Preferred Bat: NE11 Signature Series (34" / 31.5 oz) – Built for end-load power with a light, fungo-quick feel

Q&A

Nathan, in his own words

WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO HANDLING PRESSURE DURING COMPETITION?

Breathing. Enjoying the moment. Not many people get to say they feel the pressure of 30000 people so i always like to step out and look around and realize how much of a blessing it is to play the game

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH ADVERSITY AND CHALLENGES?

I deal with adversity by sticking to my routines and understanding the root of what is causing me to have issues. If I stick to my routines long enough success will happen sooner or later

WHAT ARE YOUR SHORT-TERM AND LONG-TERM GOALS IN BASEBALL?

Short term is to become an elite defender and get faster to steal a bunch of bases, drive in 60 RBIs . Long term is to play in the big leagues everyday

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT TEAMMATE?

Leading by example, being vocal enough to help guys who are maybe struggling or haven’t adjusted. Looking out for people who believe in themselves and just need a little pick up.

WHAT’S YOUR TRAINING REGIMEN LIKE?

The main difference in the way I work is the attention to detail whether that’s in lifting, hitting, outfield work, base stealing

DESCRIBE YOUR PRE-GAME RITUAL.

I do a ten minute breathing routine that helps me get locked in mentally, maybe an ice bath, have to eat some food that will supply me energy throughout the full game. I do my hip mobility and a couple sprints and then it’s game time

WHAT AREAS OF YOUR GAME ARE YOU CURRENTLY FOCUSED ON IMPROVING?

My defense, explosiveness, and speed

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY ROUTINE LOOK LIKE?

I wake up in the morning and have to prioritize getting some food in me, need to drink water in the morning, then I need to eat some form of lunch, after that probably head to the field to get work in, then eat dinner, then after that I shower and read a chapter of a book, then do a breathing routine before bed and try to get to bed as early as my body allows

Are there any fun facts or personal interests you’d like us to include in your profile?

I play electric and acoustic guitar. I’m a 4 handicap golfer
